Cristian y Rey
The music by the young and charismatic Cristian and Rey Alonso belongs to the variation Salsaton, a peculiar mix of reggaeton and Cuban timba. Nevertheless, both brothers, sons of the famous musician Pachito Alonso, and at the same time grandsons of the legendary Pacho Alonso, are at ease in almost any genre of Cuban music.
Former vocalists in their father’s band, Pachito Alonso y sus Kini Kini, with which they achieved some success and established their reputation within the world of Cuban music, brothers Cristian and Rey decided not too long ago to launch their solo career, defending a more modern and defiant style.
With a record so far, their songs are usually very well received by the public fond of dancing. It is entitled “¡Qué lindas son las mujeres!” (How Pretty Women Are!) and it is inspired, according to its authors, by the women from Cuba and the world. Apart from their voices, the CD has collaborations with Israel Rojas (from Buena Fe), Haila María Mompié and Mandy Cantero (from Los Van Van).
