Middle Eastern in the Heart of Havana
This looks like an ordinary Havana home but when you walk through the door you enter the Middle East. The entire home has been transformed into a Kuwaiti museum.
The salon has exhibits of Arab tools and accessories. Decorative carpets, eating utensils, and the stuff of desert life within a full sized jaima (desert tent) bring you into the mysterious world of the orient. Ancient scales to weigh and classify precious pearls are among the fascinating objects as well as displays of traditional Arab dress.
Models of ancient Arab naval ships, which influenced the west as well as the boom crane –another invention of the Middle East.
Learn about Arab culture in this fascination local but be careful not to step on one of the peacocks who placidly roam the garden.
