Art Party in Prado
They call it the “Fiesta de las Artes”, and kids just love it. Every weekend, within the context of an Art Fair, the promenade of Paseo del Prado holds a special treat for children, featuring vivid colours displayed on palettes, worn paintbrushes and drawing pencils in linen baskets. The “Fiesta de las Artes” is a proper space for kids to socialize while in contact with arts and crafts in general. Ultimately of course, the main asset is more likely to be the freedom for sketching on a blank canvas, carving a figurine from pine wood or crafting out their own works of art.
Highlights will include one-to-one mentorship, group guidance, workshops and special drawing programmes with enrollment throughout the whole year. Several local artists, including the accomplished Cuban cartoonist, Cecilio Avilés, have been participating and endorsing this event for quite a while, so it is growing at a steady pace now. If you should ever visit the fair bring your kids or nephews along and give them a rewarding time-out with artistic values.
