The Beatles: Varadero's Rock-n-Roll Stop-Over
Cuba is very famous around the world because of its music, like salsa, but that doesn’t mean we don’t enjoy other rhythms, like, for example, rock n’ roll. And if we are talking about rock n’ roll music in this island, The Beatles Bar-Restaurant, in Varadero, is a place for not to be forgotten.
Four statues representing four famous guys from Liverpool are in charge of the welcoming in the entrance. In the bar, you can ask for drinks and snacks, while listening or watching videos of The Beatles, The Stones, Led Zeppelin and others. Everything in the décor rides you to the Fab Four’s age, with images and posters of John, George, Paul and Ringo in the walls.
But the real magic happens at 10 o’clock in the night. That’s when a local cover-band, with incredibly talented and awesome musicians, starts playing the best music ever, literally under the sky. Songs by Queen, Cranberries, Guns n’ Roses, ACDC and others, are played by the band, always in crescendo, so the ambiance gets better and better and everybody starts dancing, jumping and celebrating. If you don’t want to dance it’s ok, you may sit and watch the whole performance while having a drink and chatting.
In sum: great ambiance, great music and good drinks. A great place to rock in Cuba.
