The Boulevard's Crafts
In the middle of a 500-year-old city, which seems like stopped in time, the Máximo Gómez street, very popular within the known as Cuba’s Eighth Wonder, shines with lots of craft works, paintings, souvenirs and peculiar clothes.
Since very early in the mornings, from 7:30 am and to 6:00 pm, from Mondays to Saturdays, and on Sundays until midday, lots of local artisans gather in this street to show and sell their products.
As Remedios still preserves that colonial city charm, currently present in few cities, if you visit this fair you will find tables with all kind of antiques: brooches, earrings, silver spoons, very old books and other items, which evidence the life and customs of a village founded by Spaniards in 1515.
The same way, a walk through this street will show you elegant lady fans, stamps, original jewellery, sea-theme souvenirs, ceramics, and dozens of other products.
