Mesón de la Plaza: The Creole Tavern
A few steps away from the emblematic Iglesia Parroquial Mayor in Sancti Spiritus, the traditional aromas of the Creole cuisine snare you to a restaurant that is unavoidable in our trip to the city’s Casco Histórico. El Mesón de la Plaza is a space that reminiscences the colonial period of Cuba and it possesses a privileged location while being located in the proximities of the “Casa de la Trova” and the “Hostal del Rijo”
The restaurant is decorated like the typical Spanish taverns with long tables contrasting with the old rural seats and it offers so much more than a culinary experience. It offers the enjoyment of a Cuban genuine atmosphere accompanied by good live music.
The clients are attended by a discreet staff and they’ll always recommend the best plates of the house, specially highlighted the soup of chickpeas, with a strong flavor and abundance of sausages. On the other hand, the fresh vegetable salads that you can accompanied with a wide range of typical seasonings of the area they are also preferred frequently.
