Luna Manzanares: The Bride of Cuba
Luna Manzanares is still giving her first steps into the music world; however it’s easy to realize we’re witnessing the birth of a star. Elegant, appealing and seductive like few others, Luna has absolutely everything to succeed, certainly a golden voice.
Deeply influenced by The Beatles, Benny Moré, Elena Burke, Pablo Milanés, Omara Portuondo and Gema Corredera, it’s not difficult to succumb to the charm of her voice and her natural beauty once you’ve listened to or seen her live. Not in vain they are referring to her as "the bride of Cuba".
Although she came to fame as jazz singer (genre for which she’s particularly gifted) after winning the JoJazz Festival, Luna’s horizons are much broader, and include soul, funk, pop, rock, bolero, rumba, trova and World music, in addition to choral music, which she studied at the academy.
Throughout her short but rising career, she has sung with Descemer Bueno, Raúl Paz, Adrián Berazaín, Mauricio Figueiral and Beatriz Márquez, proving her versatility and ability to face diversity of genres, always with a very personal, romantic style.
