The fact that the restaurant La Esperanza (Hope) is situated in the famous locality of Miramar, near the centric 5th Avenue, is an advantage. To get there is quite easy, even for those who have never been to Havana before.
La Esperanza welcomes visitors with the charm of those houses from the early 20th century, but redecorated now with light touches of bohemian modernity, always keeping elegance in mind though. The good treatment and the music from the fifties mix to envelop guests in a relaxing and cozy atmosphere.
The fusion of Cuban cuisine with overtones from other regions in the world draws a menu in which the specialty is the Chicken from the House, boneless, seasoned with onion, peppers, curry, honey and soya sauce.
Nevertheless, if you really want to live the Cuban experience to the full, the dish of rice and black beans from La Esperanza is applauded all over the city, as also the rest of the recipes made from pork, beef and fish that complete the rest of the menu.
Besides, if you feel like it, you can accompany your dishes with excellent offers of wine, cocktails and other beverages, be them alcoholic or nonalcoholic. Moreover, traditional desserts are predominant, although maybe none of them stands out more than the famous homemade crème caramel.
