El Tocororo: A taste of Cuba 24 hours a day
Maybe it is the background music, capable of transforming the rustic atmosphere into a most special one, or maybe it is the flavor of a cuisine with its own hallmark already… What is certain is that restaurant “El Tocororo” constantly surprises its visitors and what at first sight looks like one more state spot, it soon becomes a revelation.
El Tocororo in Santiago de Cuba has a special place in the list of attractions the historical city of Bayamo has to offer.
The flexibility of its hours appeal to a good many, being one of the few places you can visit any time to enjoy typical Cuban food at very affordable prices, with a varied menu that gathers together the best of the traditional cuisine and sets its prices no higher than 7.00 CUC. They are not satisfied with just presenting popular dishes though, they also experiment with new proposals and you can find offers such as the “Bolas de fuego” (Balls of Fire), a starter that suggests more spicy flavors than the customary ones in the classic cuisine of the island.
With a bit of luck you will enjoy music bands at night with live performances that give the place the charm it needs to have us in a sitting position all night and thus, savor the Cuban essence.
