Camagüey’s Mock-up: Taking a Look with a Magnifying Glass

Maqueta de Camagüey, Camagüey

Daily 09:00 AM - 09:00 PM

La Ciudad de los Tinajones (‘The city of large earthenware jars’, as Camagüey is popularly known), which was given the status of World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2008 in the category of Historical Urban Landscape, has its own replica in miniature, almost as excellent as the original one.

Camagüey’s Mock-up is one of the most detailed there are in Cuba. It highlights the architectural variety of the city, not even passing up the opportunity in its simulation to show the trees, the houses, the urban eclecticism or the rest of the peculiarities that characterize the old Village of Santa María del Puerto del Príncipe (Saint Mary of Port-au-Prince).

It habitually opens its doors to local and foreign visitors every day, and it also works as a sociocultural project addressed to children and senior citizens that have joined the “Círculos de Abuelos” (Cuban day care centers for old people).

The magic of the Mock-up transports its visitors to every corner of the city, and it is an invitation to the enjoyment of the most exotic details of this large city. When visiting, the possibility of knowing the entire city can be found in just one look.

Monday to Saturday 9:00 to 21:00 hrs.

Sunday: 9:00 - 12:00 hrs.
