During the whole month of April, at the Cultural Centre Raquel Revuelta, in the Cuban capital city, the group Teatro de D’Dos, under the direction of Julio César Ramírez, will present the play Vagos rumores (Vague rumors) by Abelardo Estorino, National Award of Literature (1992) and Theater (2002).
The piece is considered the masterpiece of Estorino’s, one of the greatest playwrights, directors and theater critics in Cuba. Vagos rumores is inspired by the life of the Cuban poet José Jacinto Milanés, born on August 16th, 1814 in the city of Matanzas, and one of the main encouragers of the romantic drama in the Spanish language.
Teatro de D’Dos was founded in 1990, in the city of Sancti Spiritus by Julio César Ramírez, its director, who is also an actor and playwright. Three significant plays in the repertoire of Teatro de D’Dos are La casa vieja (Old House), La edad de la ciruela (The Age of the Plum), and the show Federico.
Teatro de D’Dos has its venue at the Cultural Centre Raquel Revuelta, which carries the name of the distinguished actress and ex director of the emblematic Teatro Estudio group.
The performances will be on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, always at 8:30 p.m.
