Located on the ground floor of Hotel Meliá Santiago in Santiago de Cuba, El Colmadito will allow you to enjoy not only the beautiful sights of Santiago’s Square but also the specialty of the place, the delicious pasties prepared on the spot, which are characterized by their crunchy crust and unique taste, courtesy of their main ingredient: minced meat.
This is a small place for 24 guests that offers guaranteed good prices, quality and service. At El Colmadito the latter includes snacks and dinner a la carte. Among the clients’ most requested choices you will find the ajiaco criollo (a traditional hearty stew made from meat, vegetables and starchy roots), the slices of fried and crushed plantain, and pork and chicken recipes marinated in lemon juice and garlic for several hours in advance before being cooked so as to give them a particular flavor. However, you will also find shellfish and fish.
Its name, “El Colmadito” (Jam-packed), is quite symbolic of the place, since it is always full to bursting with people who prefer to enjoy the delicious offers of the house. It is, undoubtedly, an option not to leave aside.
