Here is something special to add to your visit to Gramma province. A few steps from the Plaza del Himno is a lone restaurant, overlooking the Bayamo River. Asides from offering delicious criolla food, this location has existed since the early 1800's making it a traditional hotspot for over two hundred years.
Over that time Atocha has built a reputation for the ceremonial 'Café Mambí', a cup of drip coffee sweetened by honey from local swamp bees. Cloth filtered black Bayamo coffee, slow dripped. The air is full of the rich scent.
To whet your appetite, high quality roast pork and beef are served with rice & black beans (congrís) and yucca adorned with mojo sauce. Super tasty.
This is an ideal place for couples. High value and price plus charming musical groups, a fresh air patio surrounded by ancient brick walls and shades by mango trees makes this a romantic and highly enjoyable destination.
The idyllic sights of the Bayamo river offer excellent selfies to make your facebook visitors green with envy.
