The millennial Asian culture is valued and admired by many. If you are one of those people who likes to appreciate the oriental culture you will find in Havana a place that definitively must be visited: Casa de Asia.
This museum, whose building was built in 1688, hosts a wide collection of paintings, sculpture, porcelain, furniture and traditional clothes, that will allow you to know the historical, commercial and cultural bonds that propitiated the relationships between Cuba and the East in the XVII century, and consolidated among the XIX and XX centuries thank to the Asian immigration.
Other collections you can find here are the Canton porcelain, from the XVIII and XIX centuries, and the one of Treasures from the East, with diverse pieces of ornamental art. The museum also exhibits collections of the XIX century among which you can observe ivory sculptures, old weapons, traditional clothes, gold pieces, as well as Chinese and Japanese furniture.
Also, this place periodically offers chats, conferences, events, courses and workshops, to diffuse the diversity and wealth of this millennial culture. A healthy and educational option. And certainly a very amusing one.
Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, and on Sundays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
