If you like the Cuban guayaberas, considered as a national culture’s symbol, then the Guayabera Museum, in Sancti Spítitus City, will be an experience to enjoy.
Here you will see all kind of these four-to-six-pocket Cuban traditional shirts, all of them with different designs, some looking classier or with a contemporary appearance. Apart from buying and taking home your own guayabera, you may ask for one with personal specifications and the artisans will make it for you.
The museum has also the biggest collection of guayaberas in the whole world. Fidel and Raúl Castro, Hugo Chávez and Gabriel García Márquez figure among the important personalities in and out of Cuba that have donated their own ones to this institution.
Besides, you will see the biggest guayabera in the world, which seems really huge. There is also a snack bar in the museum, where you can have national and international drinks and also something to eat.
